NAMKEON is a namesake menswear brand based in Seoul. He is a designer and maker who graduated from Central Saint Martins’ Graduate Diploma in Fashion course in 2020 and Royal College of Art’s MA Fashion course in 2023.
NAMKEON explores human existence and actions, visualising the structure of our bodies, unconscious behaviors, and the flow of emotions. This process redefines the relationship between humans and garments, transcending their function of protecting the body. Through a deep engagement with handcraft, each piece becomes more than just clothing—it is an imperfect form of existence, a structural experiment that questions the nature of being. Rawness and irregularity are embraced as essential elements of creation, capturing the beauty of imperfection.
At the core of NAMKEON’s philosophy is the concept of "distorted masculinity"—a fragile, fluid identity that challenges traditional notions of menswear. Rather than adhering to fixed categories, NAMKEON blurs the boundaries of masculinity, creating garments that exist in a limbo between the classical, the avant-garde, and the casual. This distortion is not about rejecting masculinity but about reshaping it into something undefined and evolving. The process is completed when these creations are worn and brought to life by the wearer, transforming them into a part of human existence itself.
